My vagabonds are about 2 years old. They have seen reasonable use but wondering if there is a specific time I should look to replace the batteries?

If it is the Vagabond Mini Lithium, then you can expect to replace the batteries anywhere between 1-3 years, depending on usage.

yes it is, thanks. I'm guessing I can get through 'til winter before replacing mine. When it fails is it a gradual or steep drop off in charge holding capacity?

First, for the purposes of "shelf life", "end of life" would be defined as a 30% reduction is capacity vs a new battery. This would be a gradual reduction in capacity.

We don't have exact data on this, because it takes three years of testing to find out.

Haven't had a whole lot of battery replacements yet, so it looks like the majority are lasting over three years.

I suspect after falling to 70% they will start dropping at an accelerated rate.
