I was most impressed with the Alien Bees product as I would like to know about having an adaptor for my Apple iPad with the Alien Bees product. I make videos on my Apple iPad with the iMovie application, but there is not enough lighting available and plus, I love to be able to adapt the Alien Bee's product to take photos as my Apple iPad has no flash available. I wished that there was an adaptor to plug in with my Apple iPad and the Alien Bee's product from Paul C. Buff.

Unfortunately, the iPhone/iPad is not really geared for use with flash. Beyond just an external physical connection, the internal hardware needs to be able to support it as well. In addition, full manual control over ISO, shutter speed, and aperture would be required, and that (to my knowledge) is not native to the Apple camera app.

While it is theoretically possible to do, the demand would probably be rather low (and cost, therefore, high), as (used) cameras with native ability to trigger flash can be had for about $100 with lens.
