I heard that a customer got his shipping notice for the backordered PLMs. Are they shipping now? If so, I can call customer service for an ETA, but no need to bother them, tie up the phone lines otherwise....

Thanks

Some components are shipping. Customer service will be able to tell you what components are or are not able to ship right now, and perhaps a better time frame of when yours will become available.

These Are illegally produced PLMV1 - complete with Buff name engraved on the slider, made by a crook . . . Neo Umbrella from molds we bought and paid for. Buy them if you like but they are nowhere near the performance and quality of our PLMV2 which is beginning to ship now. And don't expect any customer support. The vendor is lying through his teeth and is also a crook.

Suing Chinese crooks and their cohorts is no picnic.

No worries, Paul - just bringing it to your attn in case you hadn't seen the ads. I'm a happy (and returning) Buff customer who's got legit PlmV2's on order. =]

Fredmiranda has deteriorated even more in the time since I left. (shakes head).

Good looking set-up, about what I expected. I've been renting the Profoto Giant Reflectors for several years and they mount the strobe to the umbrella in about the same way. I've been using the Small, Medium and the Large PCB PLMs, with Profoto heads, since they came out. GREAT light which will be even better when the umbrella is on axis.

I'll order a couple of extra cages to modify for the Profoto mount, so that I can use both my Profoto gear as well as the Einstein.

Thanks for building the 85" PCB PLM. A great tool at a great price. I never leave home without it!

Profoto has the perfect head configuration for PLM (except D! with built in reflector) if you are willing to kludge up the speed ring. I would do a Profoto and other speed rings if I didn't have so much one my plate right now. You'll find V2 even better in performance.

Yeh - were having a testosterone battle over at FM. Laugh a minute.
