Recently picked up and programmed a Cyber commander. I have 2 B800's and 1 B400 all outfitted with CSR+ receivers. CC easily sensed all three CSR+ and I was able to establish the Settings and Specifications. I found that 1 of the 800's would not fire with the CC. I've verified the slider is at maximum, model lamp is on and set to the correct frequency. I swapped both the RJ11 cords and CSR+ with units that worked. The non firing B800 will fire with the slave by itself, the 3.5mm cord by itself, and by pushing the fire button. As soon as I connect a RJ!! cord, the unit will not flash with the test button on the head or the receiver or the slave. Although the CC is able to see the receiver, no power adjustment attempts have any impact on this 800. As I swapped receivers and cords with the other units with no resolution, I assume it is a B800 issue? |

First, set the Cyber Commander to the ALL channel setting, and see if the light will fire. Once fired from ALL, you can select individual channels for individual testing. Also, on the Cyber Commander, be sure that channel is set to ON. This is indicated by a vertical bar and, ideally, filled with at least some blue. A completely empty bar with a gray dash at the bottom indicates a receiver channel set to standby. Try swapping power cords and/or AC outlets, as well as removing any extension cords or power strips. While these are generally OK to use, a fault in one may cause problems, which may or may not manifest themselves equally among all lights. Lastly, check the RJ11 jack on the light itself. There should be four conductors of equal height and equal spacing. And bends, breaks, or other damage could also cause problems. |

Thank you. While do ran through all the normal checks, swapped receivers, electrical cords,mo home cords and looked at the ends and jacks, I didn't consider the studio wiring. I moved to unit to a new outlet and it works fine. Prior to the move to the commander, I was using the simple transmitter and all worked well. I assume that I have an issue with one receptacle ...perhaps a bad ground. Appreciate the help. |
