Post subject:  Repair Zeus 2500 again?

I have a Zeus 2500 that exploded in a puff of smoke. I had it fixed 10 months ago, at a cost of over $400. Today it blew up again. I'm wondering what my options are.

I have a Dynalite 1000 power pack that works with the Zeus bi-tube head. The Dynalite is heavier and harder to adjust to a specific level.

My first concern is that fixing the Zeus 2500 may result in it lasting less than a year again. Does anyone have any insight? Am I just unlucky, or did I get a bad power supply that's somehow predisposed to fail? Or is this a common thing?

I mostly shoot at -4 or -5 power, so I don't need a lot of power, but I want speed. Would two power Zeus 1250 packs be a more reliable setup?

A K

My suggestion would be to contact Customer Service or Repair departments. However, it seems you have already done so.

I have. I am considering a few options: Shooting with the Dynalite M2000e power supply that I purchased in January when the Z2500 first failed; buying two Zeus 1250s if I can find them and the cost is reasonable.

Both times this unit failed were when shooting quickly, about once per second. I am wondering if there is a way to further protect the Zeus power packs, perhaps with a power strip with a circuit breaker built in?
