Hey guys, I hope you can help me out with this issue.

I have a Cyber Commander on my Canon 5Dm3, triggering an E640 with a CSXCV.

In the last 4 or 5 sessions I have not been able to trigger the flash, and I noticed that if I manually pushed the CC towards the camera, it triggers correctly, so I am assuming it is a problem of the CC not making contact with the hot shoe mount.

How can I fix this? I have an important session tomorrow, any tip would help.

Thanks!

Shandor

The most expedient fix would be to shim the foot of the CC to fit better. If you look at the foot, you see a groove on each side. One side has a metal contact, the other does not.

On the side that does not, there is a "roof", a "back wall", and a "floor". By adding a small bit of tape to the "floor" of this groove, you should be able to nudge the CC down closer to the camera. This bit of tape need not be very wide, but I would center forward/backward. It is also OK if some tape gets onto the "back wall".

Alternately, there is a short sync cord that ships with the CC that can be used to connect to the PC terminal of your camera.

After your shoot, you can send the CC in for repair. If the unit is over 2 years old, repair charges start at $35.
