Hi,

My Alienbee 800 unit is suddenly switching itself off(fuse is tripping?) I can hit the test cycle a few times and it works fine, but it will make a pop sound and I won't be able to cycle off/on until I have unplugged it.

I have had my B800s for about 7 years now, they had light duty use for about 4 years and I have used them a few times over the past 3 years since I stopped photographing professionally.

I recently had to buy a new flash bulb, as the other had gone out. It had been working fine earlier today too, probably took about 80 photos on 1/4 power, then took a break for a couple hours, came back and now I can't get it to fire without tripping the fuse.

Any thoughts/advice?

Thanks

Repetative switching indicates a problem with too much power draw, heat, or a defective power switch. In any case, the light will need to come in for service.
