I just got my 2 B800 wich will be changed for einsteins as soon as they come to Europe.
But before i got them i built my own batterypacks for them with an aims 180 w pure sine inverter and a 5 ah nimh battery (one pack for each strobe). Now it seems that the inverter manufacture has put in a current limit on the inverters so it takes about 10 seconds for the strobe to charge and the ready button flickers on and off before it stays on.

My quetion is, is this harmful for the strobe?
I could live with the long recycle time for now until I find a new solution, as long as I don't damage the strobes.

No, it is not harmful to the Bee. The Bee's(as well as all Paul Buff lights) power supply can deal with current limiting pure sine wave inverters.

It's not that the inverter is current limited . . . instead it's because they have set the current limit value too low to be useful for this purpose. A 180W inverter with proper current limit should recycle a B800 in less than 2 seconds, 2 B800s in 3 seconds.

That would be ideal for me, so if anyone comes across one of these pleas let me know ;)

I believe a current model Samlex 150W inverter will do this. That's basically what's in Vagabond 1.
