Its not clear to me other than shaft size what has changed in the upcoming PLM v2.

There will also be a speedring mount available for Buff lights as well as Elinchrom lights. The shape and efficiency will also improve. I am hesitant to go over specifics until we officially publish pictures and/or instructions (or I am told to do so otherwise). The basic premise will remain the same. Parabolic umbrella that can be used with any light in silver bounce or translucent white, black outer cover and black spill kill fabrics for the white, and white diffuser for either. 86,64,51 inches in size.

I thought I read somewhere on the forums here that the speedring for the PLMs will be similar (same?) as the one for the Retro Laser Reflector... Or was it just similar in concept, to center the flash dome on the axis.

PLMV2 uses the same speeding as Retro Laser. PLMV2 is more precise, has higher output and better focusability, more even illumination of front diffuser. Since it comes with the speedring, it's actually cheaper because you don't need the 7" PLM reflector. You can use it out of the box with included on-axis speedring for Buff or Elinchrom lights, (you must specify which) or as conventional 7mm off-center shaft mount for any other light.

A little more complex to set up, but fast and easy once you do it a couple of times. Pictures should be up on our website very soon and we are starting to ship some versions this week.

I have another question to AB.....

I have new version of PLM (shorter shaft but not V2) for my AB800.

If I want to use that PLM on my Calumet Genesis 200 flash, do Speedring for Elinchrom brand flash units will help??

Or that new speedring is only usable on PLMV2??

PLMV1 cannot accept the speedring. Also, Elinchrom speedring won't fit Calumet light to my knowledge . . . they only fit Elinchrom.

The Genesis line from Calumet use an Elinchrom modifier mount.
They are the entry level lights not the Travelite which as an S type mount.

Apparently they do use an Elinchrom mount and fit Elinchrom reflectors. So the PLMV2 Eli speedring should work. They don't publish recycle time . . . I believe it is about three times as long as an equivalent AB. Power control range not clearly specified . . . with "modern" definition, it's probably Full to 1/16. Genesis is made in China.
