I just bought a vagabond 2 last week.

Fully charged it, tested it at home with 2 ABs, works fine.

Today, first time out at a shoot, I plug the AB1600, I see a flash or two as I'm putting in the radio triggers. However, after 5 min, there was no more power output, even though the led is still green. Modeling lamp was always off, used a power strip that had an indicator light, but the indicator light is off.

When I get home, I checked both fuses, battery connections, etc, all fine. When it's not charging, both green leds are lit, there is just no power output. When I charge it, the charging red light is fine also. I'm currently letting it charge completely, but I don't think that is the issue.

Is this simply a bad vagabond? Is there anything I can do to diagnose? Should I open the vagabond and see if anything's blown?

This is disappointing, I had booked 2 shoots this weekend and now to cancel will cost me.

The fan does come on occasionally when I turn the unit on. When I plug the unit into the wall to charge and try the power output, it still does not work.

That does sound like a faulty inverter. Contact Customer Service on Monday to arrange to correct this.
