Just got my CSR's and am not a happy camper. When I connect the CSR to the AB800 the AB800 just starts flashing as fast as it can. When I connect another CSR to another AB800 the operation is fine. Until I turn on the other flash. Then both AB800's start flashing as fast as they can. Turning off the units and turning them back on all is OK until the first flash is fired. Then it is back to DISCO mode. Both AB800's are plugged into the same outlet. Switch the CSR's between lights and the problem still occurs on the AB800.

What is wrong?

I haven't even been able to attempt to use the Cyber Commander as the strobes are possesed with the CSR's attached.

When you switched the recievers, did you also switch the cables (i presume you are using the telephone cable?)? What else is on that circuit? Computers, air conditioners, anything with a motor can introduce line noise that can cause rapid firing. Also, flourescent lights on the same circuit can do this, especially when recently turned on.

Are you locking out the slave eye via the sync jack on the lights (particuarly the second light)?

Yes, I also switched the cables when moving the receiver to the other light.

There is nothing else on the circuit that was turned on at the time.Computers, air conditioners, anything with a motor can introduce line noise that can cause rapid firing.

The only florescent light in the room is a small desk lamp that is really necessary as that provides illumination for my computer desk.

Yes, the optical slave is locked out.

I am running a wireless network in close proximity that also operates in the 2.4 ghz band.

If the receivers are that sensitive to outside influences that is going to be a problem. I have to use the lights in environments that I cannot control. Floursecent lights may be present along with other devices on circuits of which I have no knowledge. The lights are not just going be used in my small studio. If I cannot rely on the receivers in these environments that is going to be a significant problem.

Small flourescents shoult not be a problem. Overhead office type lighting is only a potential problem, and is not typically on the same circuits as wall outlets. (it was more of a trouble shooting question than a known issue).

You can try dialing to a different frequency to see if the issue goes away. Do you by chance have a CST? If so, remove its battery and see of the issue goes away.
