I have 2 Vagabond II - one is 1 year old and the other is about 1 3/4 years old - the newer battery starts beeping (low battery) after about 200 pops... I keep both batteries on charge all the time - just find it weird that the newer battery is loosing capacity before the older one.

I think having it one over a year it would still get me the 600 shots.

Is there a way to flush the battery? Is this normal to loose this much over 1 year? What would be the best plan of action?

I know it's probably not what you wanted to hear, but there is probably nothing "wrong" with your gear.

Assuming the inverter and the charger are working normally, it is, as they say, just one of those things.

SLA batteries generally follow a reasonably predictable life-cycle, but occasionally one doesn't.

Same with their death, they'll usually fade away gracefully, but occasionally one will just die. Here today, gone tomorrow.

As to your particular batteries "life", depending on the manufactures inventory, wholesales stock policies, shipping, moon phases, PCB sales-cycle, the battery could go from factory to your house in under a month, or closer to a year.......

So the good news, if you like, is there's probably nothing "wrong", your battery has just died.

I would concur with Alpha Bug's assessment. However, if the bad battery is within its year warranty, then it would be covered. Customer service will be able to determine warranty status.

As for "flushing" the battery, there is no practical way of desulfating one.
