I picked up the cybersyncs along with the foot to put your speedlight into when it doesn't have a PC/ or 1/8" inputs.

I have a Canon 550EX that I use it with.

It seems to me that the connection in the adapter is tenuous. If I am changing settings on the flash, often it will not trigger afterwards when I use the cybersync trigger. I see that the cybersync receiver gets the signal, but the flash doesn't fire.

If I try pushing the flash deeper on the shoe (I can't notice it moving at all), and re-seat the jack (using a 1/8" mini stereo to mini stereo cable provided with the cybersyncs), it usually works again.

I'll try some tests and verify that the flash is in the correct way, but I think it only goes on one way, so it shouldn't be that.

Is this a known issue? I can work around it, but it really is a pain that it is unreliable like that.

The flash will probabbly only go on one way. We have not seen that particular issue, however, i have noticed Canon products tend to be a little more sensitive to variations in manufacturing of flash connections (PC connections, hotshoe adapters, etc.). A different adapter will probably solve the issue. Contact customer service for specifics on covering this under warranty.
