I have a B1600 stuck on high power -- almost. If I slide down to 1/32, and then push, the flash drops down to minimal power, but all other points along the scale crank out full power. Confirmed with a Sekonic light meter. And let me tell you, that's a lot of light! Packaging up for repair, but wanted to bounce off the forum here to see if there is some other fix I ought to attempt first.

No, that does sound like a fault in the light. If the light is less than 2 years old, it will be covered under warranty.
