I was having trouble with my flash during a shooting and I called and you helped by advising me to change my flash sync speed. Now I would like to understand how this works. I shoot with a nikon d300 and I am using White lightning 1600 and 800.
Thanks for the help during an uncomfortable moment. Now I need to make sure that does not happen again.

Your maximum sync speed is 1/250 with standard cables and remotes (unofficially, some claim as fast as 1/320). Anything longer than that will work (i.e. 1/200, 1/160, etc.)

As a new user of the Cybersync system I can report successful usage of 1/320 with an Olympus E-30. Might be trying with an E-3 tomorrow. D300 should be able to as well.

My D700 works fine at 1/320.

FI - David Ziser provides some interesting information on using higher sync speeds, all the way up to 1/500. He's using speedlights in the demo, but it seems that the same process would apply to PCB lights. The effect can be rather stunning. CyberSync sync speed is totally a function of the camera. With the right camera, it is capable of 1/2500 sec sync speeds. See: http://www.paulcbuff.com/forums/viewtop ... f=2&t=6176
