I have been drooling over a Elinchrom Ranger Quadra as a light weight mobile flash system, but just can't justify spending $1600 on it. With the Vagabond Mini, is there any hope of an Einstein Mini pack system (320 ws to 2.5 ws) that is modeled after the Quadra (controls on the pack small head unit and keeping the whole weight at around 4lbs or less)

Not likely. The weight saved from making an Einstein 640Ws to 320Ws is nominal, and placing controls in the pack would save weight in the head, but it will still be in the pack, so the overall weight is still there. To put the controls in the pack would require an additional design and product line, which pack systems have not sold well with us, so the cost would be higher as fewer units will be sold.

As it is, the weight is < 8 lbs, adjustments can be made on the head, or 100 feet away.
