We have looked into the issue of modifiers falling off the faceplate of the lights and have found variations in different speedrings will make them fit differently. Also, we have tested multiple lights and have found some are better than others. We agree this needs to be addressed, and are working on making improvements, including strengthening the spring tension on the fingers. Due to the nature of these changes, it will take some time to completely correct. In the meantime, please use caution when moving/adjusting the lights with large modifiers mounted via the speedring.

We are working on our ultimate fix for the lights, which is redesign of the faceplate fingers. This will take about45 days to get made, shipped, and implemented.

For an immediate workable solution, we have taken the suggestion of the rubber bands and elaborated on it. We have found industrial rubberbands that are both strong and heat resistant. Those that are currently in possession of version 2 Einsteins will recieve an email informing them of the specifics, and 3 or 4 sets of bands will be sent to you. We are also looking into getting stonger springs, which is still a temporary fix, and we hope that will be in place by next week. There will likely be some units that will ship with the bands, but we are working to get the springs in as soon as possible.

Once the new fingers arrive and become installed, we will work to get those replaced as fast as possible. However, we have not finalized the flow as to how the exchange will take place. Part of this decision making will come from information not available until the new parts are here, or shortly before.

Once we know what is going we will keep you updated. Again, we appreciate your patience and understanding!

On Wednesday, 45 days will be 70 days. What is the status of the "FIX"?

Whats interesting is up until yesterday, I had 2AB and 2 Einsteins. The Einsteins, I just got last week, so they are the new ones. The modifiers (beauty dish, medium Softbox, stripbox) fit very tight on the AB.

The modifiers definately have some wiggle and are a bit loose on the Einsteins. I think they are ok, but you can sure tell the difference.

Funny you say that. My v2's didn't wiggle at all but the replacement v2.1's I just received today seem to 'wiggle' ever so slightly close to the faceplate like you stated. That said, they're holding all my modifiers without the rubber bands and the grip seems very tight so I'm a happy camper. Sure it took a little bit, but these latest E640's rock, IMO.

Thanks Paul/CS for making things right! :D
