I had Colin from PCB AU call me a short time ago informing me my Einsteins would be here in a little over a week.

I mentioned the clamping issue and he was unaware of any of this. I explained because of the issue (directed him to the threads here) that I was unsure if I wanted to take delivery of the current units. I have ordered the 22 HOBD and I have a range of large softboxes using the Photoflex speedring to go on the Einstein.

Colin suggested I posted my concern here to receive a response so I could let him know ASAP if I would take the units or not. Obviously he has plenty of other people who will quickly snap them up.

If I proceeded with my order and took the current Einsteins what would happen if I had issues with the mounting of accessories?
Could I hold onto the units and have them exchanged with fully rectified Einsteins at some point later on?

I would eagerly like to go through with my order after waiting many months but it is of a higher priority for me to have 100% rectified versions even if it means further delays.

Any quick response appreciated so I can let Colin know the status of my order.

I have reworked the clamping fingers and am waiting on timeframe for replacement fingers. We really haven't seen a lot of problems with the clamping (22HOBD is the worst offender).

The finger redesign should hold anything very solidly. Could be 15-30 days . . . don't know yet.

Colin could easily replace the cam assembly as soon as we have new parts if you have problems.

Your call . . . we'll stand behind you 100%.

After reading your post I got on the phone with Colin and I am proceeding with my order. YAY!

Thanks to yourself, Colin, Julie, TS on this forum. My dealings with PCB at all stages have been nothing short of brilliant and demonstrating outstanding customer service.
I greatly look forward to receiving my Einsteins! ;)
