Grrr, I just modded the 1/8"->1/4" cable (cut in half, removed black sheath, stripped and spliced red and white wires to their opposites, insulated).

But when connected to the Speedotron pack, it exhibits the exact same behavior as before =(

I just don't get it. I tried again a PC -> 1/4" cable and it tripped the Speedotron perfectly 10 times out of 10. I can't get the CSR+ to fire it at all unless I play the tip against the inside of the jack, even with a reverse polarity modded cable.

Frustrated =(

Wierd. I have seen where people can trigger that pack with CyberSync components. Perhaps the CSR+ is laid out differently. Our Engineer is out for the rest of the day, but I can ask when he gets back (I assume tomorrow) what his thoughts are. I know there are some sync differences between the recievers, and this may be one of them.

Any luck with the engineer?

Two other things:
1) I discovered that with everything plugged in, if I disconnect the power to the CSR+ and reconnect it, upon reconnecting it fires the flash once. This happens with both the straight and reverse polarity cables.
2) I actually had wanted the CSRB+ but must have accidentally ordered the CSR+. Do you think I'd have better luck with the CSRB+?

Yes. The CSRB has an output trigger circuit that is more immune to "Latch Up" than CSR. This can occur on older design packs and some offshore flashes that draw considerably more trigger current than most designs. Latch Up typically present in the manner you describe - will fire once, then latches up. We'll work with you one this.

I had the exact same problem and read this thread. I contacted Lon at Flash Zebra and he built me a custom polarity cable (1/4" to 1/8") and it worked perfectly with my CSRB attached to my Speedo 805 pack.
