I should have been more clear... I think $20 is a great price. I would have guessed that bulb would hit the market at twice that (or more).

Anyone tried one of these ? It look like it could be an alternative.

BA15D 120V LED bulb. Equivalent to 20W.

LED lamps like this achieve about 50 lumens per watt . . . about three times the 17 lumens per watt of tungsten lamps. So at the rated 1.4 W you can expect an equivalent light output of about 4W, not "15 to 20W". Plus the stated 15mm diameter base is smaller than the standard 19mm base used by Einstein. Also, the stated ".01A" equals .1.2W, not 1.4W. So I would beware.
