Yes, they are legal USA bees, though bees are not required to have proof of citizenship. They do have to be made here by US citizens though to qualify. :geek:

So, Paul, can this be taken to mean the prototypes you were expecting have been received and meet your requirements? Even if this is the case, would it not still be a minimum of five weeks before a production order placed today could be received from China? I hope I'm mistaken but "around the corner" sounds an awful lot like July to me.

Ah, got it. Following up on your comment that the PLM V2 is "working fantastic" by asking if it meets your requirements constitutes a grilling. Pretty low bar for achieving "grilling" status if you ask me.

And it doesn't take a crystal ball to know that it takes a container shipped from China 21 - 28 days to reach the west coast, does it?

@ tetrode I think you'll save yourself and Paul plenty of unnecessary aggravation if you simply take into account historical estimates. And if the item arrives sooner than thusly adjusted projection, be merry.

Accurate estimates are hard if one develops something new and has external dependencies. Even if one is digging a trench one can come upon an underground rock. This is why as Paul pointed out, almost no other firm is willing to give estimates.

For one reason or another, Paul likes to give them when people want to know, and it's probably the same optimism that has helped his company thrive, incl in the face of the recent flood, that keeps his estimates optimistic as well.

On page 10 of "How is progress on the Enstein?" thread (Feb 20, 2010), I have posted a message whose sentiment was virtually identical to yours, the gist being that one would be wrong to expect the first significant batch of Einsteins before July - August. And yet Paul proved me wrong by months, shipping the first batch many times sooner.

Since then I bite my tongue whenever I get the urge to question his estimates. When it comes it comes, and sometimes it comes sooner rather than later.

I bust my butt to try to get this stuff to you as fast as humanly possible and as good as I can possibly make it, and treat my customers the best I possibly can. I don't control the increasingly globalized world and there are physical limitations. If you haven't notice, the western world is on the verge of collapse. You are wrong about shipping . . . we are shipping everything new by air freight - 2-3 days. It costs me a fortune and I eat the cost. Quite simple I consider my company a partnership with my customers amidst a global ship of fools. If the bar is to low for you, go away and buy eBay copycats instead of innovations. I won't tolerate smart remarks like yours here. Last warning.

There have been several (conflicting) reports, but as I understand it, the situation is this ......................

The Australian distributor has placed an order for XX units, we do not know what XX is.

The Australian distributor is in the pre-order list like everyone else, when their "number comes up" (say YYYY, but we do not know what YYYY is either) their order will be shipped via air.

Therefore, if you have pre-ordered with the Aussie Distributor, and your order fits within XX, then you will get your units when YYYY comes up.

Anyone have anything further to add ??
