I think Colin Smith has some now only because I saw him post a few images using them on flickr.com. Look under Alien Bees group. It was a few days ago. His user name is smithcolin78. Its all public.

"Official*" news for Australians ..............

Colin Smith (the Australian distributor) is about #1200 in "the list".

He has ordered slightly more then he actually has pre-orders for, so at this moment he has a **VERY LIMITED** number of units available from this shipment.

(Actually, he now has one less, as I just ordered another unit :D !!!)

So, if you are watching the order numbers (a good place to do this is POTN, as of this morning they were saying that they are now in the 600's) when the order number gets to around 1,200 "our" units will (should) ship soon after that.

As PCB has stated that they are air-shipped to Australia, allow one week for that (customs and stuff) then allow (say) another week to repackage & ship them.

So, maybe within 2 - 3 weeks after the list gets to 1,200 we'll have ours !!!

** SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITH OR WITHOUT NOTICE :D :D **

Maybe !!

I was number 609, and I received my notice yesterday 5/25. Two units.

I think this makes my 17th and 18th Paul Buff lights.

As the "Official Australian" distributor why would they have to wait inline as a regular customer ?? I'd I've thought in order to support international profile of Paul C Buff that a certain level of VIP/privilege would have been afforded ....

PCB said (a while ago) that the Australian orders were in the list, just like everyone else.

Sort-of seems fair, why should an Australian customer who placed an order "last week" get theirs before an AB-Max customer, who's been waiting two years get theirs ?

So, whenever the Australian distributors "number comes up", they'll get their pre-order, and like every other customer, what they do with them when they receive them is their business.......But we do know that they have a "list".

So the first Australian customer is #1200 regardless whether they ordered last week or last year ?? No that doesnt sound fair .... To treat any distributor as an "ordinary customer" doesnt sound fair either ... IMO ...
