So the first Australian customer is #1200 regardless whether they ordered last week or last year ?? No that doesnt sound fair .... To treat any distributor as an "ordinary customer" doesnt sound fair either ... IMO ...

That is correct, as long as their order "fits" into the number of units that the Australian distributor ordered.

I guess the other way would be to send the units to Australia one at a time.

OTOH.....The person who was order #1 could sell me his unit now, which would mean I get "my" unit before (say) order # 900, is that fair ?

I guess this is exactly the same, my unit is not being sold to my by PCB (USA) who have a strict priority list.....I just happen to be buying my unit from someone who was order # 1,200, and if they happened to order (say) 500 strobes, then they are free to do with them whatever they want......

But you are not just buying from a person you happen to be buying from "PCB" - the official Australian Distributor ....

Colin and Julie have had little to no advanced knowledge/info as to what is going on .... I feel frustrated for them and those folks who ordered back when advanced orders from PCB Australia started being taken ... a good 6+ months ago ...

I dont know Alphabug whether you ordered last week or last year ... as for you and I its all academic ... mate I'm just venting .... some folks are not far from getting their 2nd orders and we havent seen diddly squat ...

I don't think it's such a bad thing to be waiting if there are still possible or could be unresolved issues. Resolving issues at this stage would be a slow and inconvenient process for Australian customers as good units would need to again come from the US. I can understand why Luap would not want any initial batches for anything other than the US market. I would certainly do the same in his position.

I've put in a ship by sea order and I'm hoping by the time it's shipped from the US (end of June, start July) the CC range problem is fixed. I really don't want to try and work with something that needs to be carefully monitored to make sure it's doing what it should be doing. I will be using a CST to trigger but if I change the output of a light, I need to know it has been changed and the signal successfully went through to the Einstein. This is a much bigger issue for me than any triggering concern others have raised.

As far as I have read the only other tweak to the Einstein that will be made at some point is the mold for the casing. It would be great if this is fixed for my units but I think they will be pushed enough just to have Einsteins ready to ship for the ship by sea order.

I don't think there was an australian distributor last year, so get in line with everyone else.

Think of the person with pre-order 1201, if the Aussies have pre-ordered 500 units, he might be waiting weeks till they have stock back in

This thread is getting confrontational toward my company and I won't allow that . . . would you?

The straight info is that there were 1200 pre orders before AU representation came into being and no preferential treatment has been given to anyone. Pre orders are being shipped in the order received and this stuff about 500 being pre ordered by AU partner is a total myth - Colin has passed on his customer pre orders to us as received and we would not have allowed him to order a bulk order that placed him ahead of other customers.

If this bickering about how we ought to run our company doesn't stop I will have to remove this whole thread. As I said before, this is a technical forum. not a bitch board.

My pre-order number is in the 1300 range. It may be two weeks or ten weeks before my number comes up, and I am happy to wait my turn. Simply put, good things are worth waiting for. No bitchin' from me on this issue.

I for one have no issues with the way the orders are being handled, and as I've said, I don't really know a fairer way of handling the AU (or for that matter, EU) orders.

The "500" number is just a number I plucked out of my bum AS AN EXAMPLE.....

I had a mate who was on the AU pre-order list from day one, and he pulled out and purchased another brand, so his "order" was then available from the AU distributor for someone else to "snap up".

So, apart from shipping the AU units over one-by-one, it seems the current system is a fair compromise.

(So, What number we up to now :D ??)

Chill out Mate...

As far as I know, from the first time I'm here, nobody said anything about fairness when considering PCB AU order. Fairness about PCB AU have to be in line to get theirs, it is strictly between PCB Inc and PCB AU. As far as I concern and I know of, Colin didn't have a problem or mind about it and so does Paul. And other who ordered from PCB Inc. also do not have a problem with PCB AU in the line above them. So why make it a problem?

In fact, we who order from PCB AU should have thank Colin for ordering ahead so we can have it. Otherwise think what number are you going to be in the list?

@AB,

Thanks for the info, mate! Now I know in what number we are... :)

I know how many unit Colin ordered in the first batch. He told me, but I don't think it is appropriate to write it here. Paul is right, for sure it is not 500 or up. It is a fair number considering Colin have to fulfill Asia-Pacific Region orders. I do not think the one who ordered after PCB AU will waiting for weeks for their order. No need to panic. :D

I have asked Colin about the Einstein, apparently he has not get order yet, but won't be too long. The Einstein he used for his photos in flickr is the sample from the 1st Einstein PCB have and (ab)used (:D) as test dummies. He apparently got some (or one) to play or test with ahead. It's a smart move from PCB - as his distributors must know the product before hand. Totally agree with it!! :)

So everybody, please chill out... I know it's the most anticipated strobe now and we want it so dearly... I can't wait for it too... But please just chill out and don't say anything that is unnecessary. Peace...

If it helps put things into perspective for those still waiting, a call to CS yesterday placed the estimate of my 2 preorders (16xx & 17xx) to a little over a month from now.
