I ordered 4 Einsteins on 6/17 which makes this thread very painful. Anybody got a guess how long my wait will be? To make things worse PCB has such a great staff I got all of the accessories today, 6/18. So here I sit pawing over stands, CC and softboxes day dreaming about my first set of lights. I have had a chance to read the Cyber Commander manual, watch a couple of youtube videos about it and generally geek out about it. On the face of things the CC is a very elegant solution.

"Official*" news for Australians ..............

Colin Smith (the Australian distributor) is about #1200 in "the list".

He has ordered slightly more then he actually has pre-orders for, so at this moment he has a **VERY LIMITED** number of units available from this shipment.

(Actually, he now has one less, as I just ordered another unit :D !!!)

So, if you are watching the order numbers (a good place to do this is POTN, as of this morning they were saying that they are now in the 600's) when the order number gets to around 1,200 "our" units will (should) ship soon after that.

As PCB has stated that they are air-shipped to Australia, allow one week for that (customs and stuff) then allow (say) another week to repackage & ship them.

So, maybe within 2 - 3 weeks after the list gets to 1,200 we'll have ours !!!

** SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITH OR WITHOUT NOTICE :D :D **

Maybe !!

June 16th -- Received email and placed "real" order on Pre-order # 820.

Three Einsteins and more goodies scheduled to arrive at my door later this week. Will conduct full set-up and testing immediately, and put them to work on Friday night.

And I sure am glad I ordered a few PLMs last year... 8~P

So excited!

Quote from PCB Australian Distributor ......

I don't know what this means for others, or indeed what it means for AU and by extension, I'm guessing, EU users.

Presumably by 20 August the shipping # will be over 1,200 so we should get ours shipped on or about that date, but what does this mean for units shipped between now and then, how will these identified "issues" impact on these units ?

AB.

Quote:
Heat and Power Issues have been discovered on The Einstein particularly when powering the unit on 240v. Improvements are under way to the design, a projection date for these improvements is the 20th August 2010.

As a result the US will not be shipping Einstein's to customers in 240v areas until after these improvements are in place.

We understand that customers have been anxiously waiting on their pre-orders and appreciate their patience.

Please keep an eye on the Technical Forum:
