Good thinking. Use them now and update them when available. Remember, if you have a valid pre order and opt to delay it for V2 you still get the $439.95 price and you also get a $50 accessory coupon for waiting. A lot better for us than shipping, then exchanging. Also, should you accidentally over heat it and soften the housing or damage something, we don't care . . . you still get it all replaced when available.

Just ordered my einstein on 6/14 so I am wwwaaaayyyy down the line. :) Just orded an AB800 so I have something to use in the meantime. Might sell it when my einstein arrives but probably just keep it as a second higher power light. :)

Keep up the good work Paul and Crew. I personally don't mind waiting if it means receiving a superior and more reliable product! :)

Will be nice to finally get things rolling... didn't order any AB's to hold me over, and it's starting to hold me back a little. And the old stuff I've been waiting to sell on eBay isn't exactly going up in value... ;)

BTW, I thought we were getting close to production one some of the PLM's, but when I spoke to customer service, they thought they were "a couple months" away. Any status updates?

We're waiting 'til we see them to set a firm schedule. Two months is way pessimistic. The first batch of 51" and 64" white PLM V2s is due any day now, and they are starting on silver and all other sizes and fabrics. Mt best guess would be under a month for all pieces. They can produce a large number in a short time so we don't expect significant backorders once they start coming in.

I was wondering if I was able to get a pre-order number and price if I don't order via credit card? I normally wire in the money so I can't just create a normal shopping cart...

I have to say I absolutely love my bees. My studio is all Buff'd out, just need my PLM's and an Einstein or three!

I wouldn't assume anything ...............

I wrote to Colin over a week ago (it was late in the week, around 8th or 9th July) and he said that he'd have an answer for me by Monday or Tuesday, 12th / 13th July), and I'm still waiting ............

Preorder #1399, just received email today.

I deferred until 2.0, end of August. Frees up 4 more for the next ones on the list.

Wait a second, if I understand this V1/V2 stuff correctly, every pre-order will be replaced with V2 regardless of whether they take delivery of V1 or not. In my mind, the only way this works is if the line simply restarts once V2 is released, and all the waiting starts over again from #1.

Someone please tell me my understanding is wrong...

Is late-August the estimate for when #1399 could expect V2, or when V2 starts shipping? What are the chances V2 production will be much faster? What are the realistic expectations backorders will see the light of day before Christmas?

ETA: Allow me to explain this seemingly alarmist date: If pre-orders started shipping sometime in April, and they presumably had some ramp-up time, and we haven't made it through them by July (3 months later), and V2 shipping starts sometime next month, and every pre-order will get a V2, how can backorders realistically expect any date this year? Please feel free to correct my possibly faulty timeline.

Possibly only those with a V1 who request an upgrade will get it, and maybe PCB is working on the (not unrealistic) expectation that not every V1 owner will request the upgrade, and those who do won't all request them on "Day 1" ................

But I do understand your question and concern !!!

AB.
