Also what I can see the the grip for reflectors are slightly modified for better retention?

Btw how long time do you have you wait if you order atm? End of the year?

For new orders, we are looking at mid November. The grip has been redesigned from previous Einsteins to allow more modifiers to fit. The screws on the old version interfered with some 3rd party or Balcar modifiers, and some of one of our modifiers. The strength of the old version was not an issue.

I ordered 2 additional Einsteins on May 2nd when I confirmed the order for the 1 unit I had on the original pre-order list. It's been 5 months. I understand there's been some redesigns and I appreciate that PCB will be replacing the old units for the new ones but...

how much longer do I have to wait ?

I'm not whining, I'm actually asking for an estimate :)

Customer service will have the most accurate estimation, as they are keeping track of the number of orders and other logistics of order fullfillment.

Just want to inform everybody, that all preorders of Einstein should be converted to orders.
Ok, the whole story:
Long time ago (I think it was in early spring) I preordered one Einstein. My number was 1522.
At the end of June I contacted support to verify, that everything is ok and to inform, that I’ll wait till v2 version.
Support said, that they think, that they will send my Einsten from 20 August or in the beginning of September.
In August, after announcement of price increase, I ordered 2 more Einsteins.
Ok, since production of v2 was delayed (I know, that they did all their best) I didn’t worried.
Since shipment of v2 began recently I contacted support to check, when they will send me my first Einstein. To my surprise, I was informed, that my first preorder was dropped. That they sent me email with instructions how to convert preorder to order and have not received reply. They suggested that message went to spam folder. I can’t confirm or deny idea of spam folder, because I cleared it recently and I receive too much spam. But my spam filter is quite clever and it rarely mark good messages as spam. And I received all messages from support without problems.
Ok, good news is that support proposed to add Einstein to my second order (using initial price).
Bad news is that I have to wait till queue will come to my second order (3..4 weeks from now).
So, if you have not received message with instructions how to convert preorder to order –I think you should contact support.
Best regards,
Boris

I had my preorder converted to an order and elected to wait until the fix was made per the recomendation of PCB staff (canadian order). At that time i asked if i could be notified before shipping so i could make possible additions and deletions . Since that time i have called back 3 or4 times to ask about my order and each time i was assured i would be notified. I had even made an interim purchase of light modifiers and the standard alien bee monolight.

I have checked email and spam traps daily and tonight the order shipped with no call or email.

Not knowing the stock level of the PLM and my finances whenever the Einsteins finally shipped I had planned on maximizing the order whenever it was ready to go.
I had bought several accessorie items that i had originally ordered with the eintsein and planned to buy the cyber commander and cybersync control setup as well as whatever plm was available at that time.

Damn am i pissed.. no one reads instructions anywhere anymore.

Beaser, when did you place your order that got dropped?

I placed mine May 12th (see page 9 of this thread) and I still haven't heard a word... And I use GMail and never clear my spam folder, so I can say with certainty that I haven't received any email.

I've emailed CS just now...

I place the original order in january and converted the preorder to an order in july. At that time i had not received any notification about my back order and it was by chance that I found out. I called in to check on the status and was told it was emailed the previous month. I had checked my spam traps and email daily and found nothing.

The order wasn't dropped, it was shipped wed afternoon but without notifying me. I spoke with PCB customer service last week and reiterated my request for a call before shipping.

They are busy people and they do deliver. It just that this is a major inconvenience to me as they have shipped items that i was going to cancel. i was hoping to order the 64"PLM but would settle for the 51 " for now and i finally came up with the cash to include the cyber sync setup. that 10% discount was important as was the expectation that someone would listen to my request for notification.

My wife and cat ignore me as it is :)
