I received my v2s with finger update about 3 days ago and have used them all day yesterday and today for shooting product. I ordered in early July.

I think I'm in love.

Where I used to have to get up and adjust my lights and/or turn them off and on, I can now do that with the Cyber Commander. I am amazed at what the system can do. Now I can set up a product and shoot it at various f-stops all while sitting at my monitor station (adjusting via the CC to the proper light levels) and in a fraction of the time it used to take. These lights and the Cyber Commander system are going to save me a lot of time.

I can't wait to try them on some stop-motion stuff like water splashes and mid-air dancers.

It was a long wait, but worth it. I'm glad I got my order in (for 3) when they were at the lower price too. Definitely worth the wait.

Thanks, PCB and crew!

Hey Curtis, I'm in Arvada. =)

Question for you (or TS), how do you know it is the updated fingers? I got mine and CS told me they would be the old fingers and I'd receive rubber bands, but I didn't receive any rubber bands. So either they forgot the rubber bands or I got the fixed fingers.

Thanks!
-Jeff

They're curved outward instead of straight (slanted).

Right, they are more curved than angular. You may not have gotten bands if you got a newer spring that had more tension on the older fingers.

For all of you who are still waiting for your lights they are diffidently worth waiting for. I've had mine a month so I've had the opportunity to give them a through work out and all I can say now is I'm in love. Simply put the CC makes this system amazing. My time shooting now is so much more productive with having all that control in my hand.

My studio space isn't huge 19x20 w/12.5' ceilings so the Einsteins with their range and 1/10 stop adjustments were a perfect fit.

I simply couldn't be much happier with the quality and functionality of my new lighting system.

Thanks PCB & Company!

Jason

Jason, For those of us anxiously waiting for ours, can you tell us when you ordered yours?

Thanks,
Dave

My Einstein ordered last July 31st was delivered Feb 8th. I was contacted to fill my order back in December but elected to wait until all final fixes are in. Hope that helps those trying to estimate delivery dates.

Original order date was 6/16/10 and I received my lights on 1/13/11, 207 days. Even with that delay I would still do it again. The good news is PCB seems to be working through the backlog pretty quickly.

just a data point, not a complaint: I ordered in Feb 09, received V1s in July, and have not yet been contacted for the new V2.x puppies.

I emphasize again: this is not a complaint. I have had the use of 4 V1s for all these months. Some care to avoid the overheat situation, but no real inconvenience. The V1 mounting plates with the screw locations are a bit touchy with some softboxes. I don't use pocket wizards, so that early issue was no factor.

I will be happy to receive the improved versions, as I do occasionally find the modifier mounting to be twitchy, but it hasn't been a dealbreaker.

So this is just a data point for those who may still be waiting to hear about V1 replacements. Mine arrived in July, and I am still waiting, too.

But waiting very patiently, and enjoying the heck out of my V1s in the meantime :-)

BDP

I was contacted 5 days ago to swap out a v2 light with the finger problems. That light I ordered back in April so they should be getting to you soon.
