Warms my heart Paul :)

Your attitude and that of your people and from what I've read, the quality of your products too :)

By the way, our full power came back on today so our employees no longer have to work in a sweat shop...

You couldn't run the air conditioning units from a few Vagabonds?

There is a legendary (but absolutely true) story about an executive from American Power Conversion in Rhode Island (they make the APC battery backup UPS products) who was using his electric weed wacker near the foot of his rather lengthy driveway and ran out of extension cord. He went into the house, grabbed a UPS unit, and... (you can figure it out, LOL). I wrote this up and it ran in the back-of-the-book gossip column of one of the computer industry's leading trade newsweeklies.

A few hundred Vagabonds could cool a few offices. We have a 20kW gas generator to keep the lights and phones and production working . . . hey, we have 40,000 square feet in four buildings. All is well here again, but Nashville is 1.5 billion $ under water. It was nice to see Janet Napolitano visit 10 days after it hit and the administration offer a few million dollars in aid. It is said this flood is second only to Katrina in damage.

Looks like Tennessee will have to cough up the vast percentage of the costs. Oh, and I'm sorry the ferry ran into the peer in NYC . . . now that's big news.

Once again, applause to our Governor, Phil Bredeson (Democrat of all things), and to the people of the Volunteer State. He just announced there will be no tax increases to cover this. He has also steadfastly avoided instituting a state income tax against the wishes of his fellow party members. The prior Republican Guv almost gave into them on this important issue. Neighboring Kentucky has state income tax, toll roads everywhere, state lottery and horse track gambling and has lower standard of living than TN. TN succumbed to a state lottery under the R Guv a few years back. I believe the same Guv brought us "TennCare" - similar to ObamaCare a few years back. It was a huge failure and almost ran the state broke.

Alabama has state income tax, higher sales tax - including tax on groceries, no lottery and casinos only on Indian reservations. Just rambling.

Funny you should mention that, Dick. In no way am I endosing any of this, but my VII has charged my lawnmower and car batteries, run my weedeater and drill, and i ran a fan off of it to get my cheap charcoal started. I also used it to run my lap top so i could keep an eye on the nasty weather 10 days ago to isolate me from any electrical surges. One day I might take a picture with it.

We are running about 50-60 per day right now. I'm pushing for 100+ but we have no air conditioning and power in half the building and homeless employees.......

That's gotta suck ! :o

I have actually been looking out on our news for information about the floods you mentioned, and the only international news we are getting right now is the Greek financial crisis and the oil spill...

I cannot begin to imagine how your homeless employees must feel, I just hope their boss is helping them out as best he can ;) !!

Again, it's probably of no consolation but we have similar policies "Downunder" !!

All the best to your staff,

AB.
