I would to see a fresnel lens modifier for the einsteins, that would be amazing as all the top lighting guys have fresnel lenses for their strobes Paul please make a fresnel lens for strobes! |

Here is one that claims to work with our lights. It's not ours, so I do not know how well it works, but it is the only one I know of that works with our lights (though, Tallyn has one that works with our old style main frame). http://www.dennymfg.com/ProductDetailsN ... bcb86d2c04 |

While that would be just "ok", it would be great to have a real glass fresnel lens available for the Einstein and White Lightnings. The one I duck taped together looks HORRIBLE, but casts a beautiful light. I used the one in the link below to make one for my White Lightnings. I feel your pain. Spent a good deal of time and effort and time on projection lenses and retroreflective projection systems in the early 80s, both real glass lenses and plastic fresnel lens. Agree that plastic lens aren't suitable for serious work. On the other hand, even fine glass lenses are a compromise with conventional ring flashtubes and modeling lamps. To do it right requires requires a very special near point-source flashtube and modeling lamp combination plus 3 to 4" glass lenses and culmination/focusing capability. One might get about 50% of the way there with a tightly wound spirial tube, ala Speedotron or a spall U Shaped tube. But it would be very difficult to achieve the flash duration and power levels of Einstein. Needless to say, this would be a very expensive and large product, with insufficient sales potential to match the cost and engineering effort. Better suited to Broncolor level product lines. Sorry for the hard facts. |
