Post subject:  New 8.5 inch reflectors do mount securely on my Einsteins

I just received three new 8.5 inch reflectors for my 3 Einsteins (along with three 8.5 inch grids).

They do not attach firmly, but rather have a lot of play in them where the clips hold them to the Einstein. I have the v2 Einsteins which I thought were supposed to have the improved mounting clips.

Is this a known issue? If you have the 8.5 reflectors mounted, there is probably 1/8 inch deflection (rattles around) because the Einstein clips are not holding them tightly against the base plate. The 7 inch reflectors I have DO mount securely on the Einsteins.

Please advise. Its not very encouraging having these wobbling around when they're on the Einsteins. I thought the new 8.5 inch reflectors were the recommended reflector dish for the Einsteins which is why I bought them in the first place.

The 8.5" HOR will have some play due to the different shape of the reflector itself. There is no risk of it falling off the light (assuming it was properly installed), and there is no discernible light quality degredation from the looser fit. It was recomended for Einstein for its functionality vs. the 7" reflector.

Blackace - really? Have you tested the Einstein vs. other lights? I have and the decision is clear - Einstein. Why? Better images and more versatility - hands down.

If you bought ANYTHING from Paul C. Buff and it doesn't meet your expectations you can return it - no questions asked! Here's the link - http://www.paulcbuff.com/guarantee.php. There's no reason to be a disrespectful d@@k here - Paul goes to great length to satisfy his customers.

If the fit is as I described above, the combination is functionally fine, and works as described. If there is significantly more movement, there may be other factors involved. If so, you may want to contact us by phone so we can determine the severity and any actions necessary.

Of course, we do offer a 60 day satisfaction guarantee on all products.

That may very well be your experience but for my money and time that not the case if in fact i buy something that's not to my likeing or standard I 'm within my right to voice my concern just as the guy whom started the post now I have a beauty dish that fits just fine and I was talking about the light modifier the reflector not the light it self and it may not be an issue to you but to me it's a concern again why sell something that has a known issue ,then I have to pay to send it back come on be realistic is that a good business and you may not see it may way but I'am sure rob61 the guy that started the post feel the same way

This issue was learned after the fact the 60 day have gone and past this is not a modifier that I use on a regular the beauty dish fit just fine so why would I not think the 8.5 to be of the same fit that the point just stuck like Chuck done deal my 47 octbox fit fine my strip bank fits fine not a happy camper

The reflectors on a $900 Rx600 have a similar amount of play, cost way more, and can't hold a candle to Einstein performance. This has no material effect on performance and is due to manufacturing tolerances. If anyone is really not satisfied with the fit, we'll take the reflectors back, even after the 60 day satisfaction warranty just to keep peace.

Blackace, if your really feeling cheated somehow, I suggest you return everything and move on to another system more to your liking. We only want happy customers.

My personal opinion is that's it's much to do about nothing.
