How many saved lighting program will Cyber commander store on let's say 2 or 4 gb sd card? Can I insert 16 or 32 gb sd card?

You can't use over a 2G card because they are not compatible. 50 complete presets may be stored on the card. Presets can be downloaded to a Mac or PC for storage, then reloaded onto another card if desired.

So it would be 40.96 Mb per programmed presets? Wow that's pretty more than raw images size.

The number of presets is dictated by the programming, not card size. You can get the same number of save locations (50) from a 1MB card if you could find one. Very few would need more than that, and even fewer would want to scroll through a thousand saved set ups.

If the cybercommander could have lighting setups similar to the link below, than it would definitely make sense to use all 50 settings. Right now, I think i only have 2 settings on the sd slot but i honestly don't remember what they were for....:

Obviously, Cyber Commander cannot move the lights around and attach reflectors, etc. Unless the light positions and modifiers are exactly the same as when the preset was established it won't be of much value. The best use of the presets would be in a Glamor Shots type studio where the lights and modifiers are fixed in position and you want to predefine different compositions such as high key, low key, dark skinned models, etc.

Paul, just curious.. why in the world did you decide to use mini SD cards rather than a simple mini USB port. Everyone has a half dozen cords, simple pc/laptop to CC, or E640, connection and no chance of a mini USB cord falling inside an E640. The card just seems a little backassward...

The lighting diagrams would be references on what kind of look you would be going for. Call it food for thought when searching through different light setups saved on the sd card to remind you what the results of the light setups will be.

I think a touch screen setup for the cybercommander would be an awesome thing to have for the future of the CC system. Make it more of an app/icon like system and the user-friendlyness would definitely make the einstein combo super appealing.

I'm reading through these older posts about wanting preset lighting setups etc. for the cyber commanders & am pretty amazed. I guess you'd have to give instructions on what modifiers to use, how far away each light needs to be, what to set your camera at & probably come push the shutter release for them. I guess it's supposed to be a lesson of how to light also.

I for one thank you for this great device that I can quickly go from one lighting setup to the next & greatly improve my workflow in a session. I have about 20 spots programmed into my SD card & will be adding more.

I use that light setup software also. I print them out and binded them to keep in the studio. For each printout I have it numbered to match the SAVED CC setup #1-50 (I have 14 saved setups). Then I printed out another paper that hangs on my camera stand with the setup number and name of setup (1-Trad H&S etc..). As I move around the studio to different sets I just look at my list, punch in the # for that set. If I don't remember the placement of lights then I refer to the binded booklet of printouts. Every set has different lights at varied powers which are all changed in a second with the CC (can you tell I love this system).
