Go to SETUP> LIGHT SETTINGS> POWER = STANDBY. Make sure you have the channel(s) you wish to affect selected in the lower left. You can also save a set up with all the lights set to STANDBY, and open that set up in the OPEN MEMORY option. |

Guys, could you please add a shortcut to turn the selected light on/off right from the main screen with 1-2 clicks without going to the menu/light settings etc. How about a double down click with the right joystick on the selected light? Turning separate lights on and off is used very often but with the current sequence of actions it's actually way faster to pull the power plug out. Hopefully it can be added with the next firmware release. Thanks, Alex |

Interesting thought, however, I believe it would lead to some accidentally turning off lights, and counter complaints. However, the process described would be for turning off the lights for a break, but while the units are still supervised. We recommend removing power all together for long term (overnight) shut down. If you are looking for a quick way to keep a certain light from firing for a few shots, then quickly re-engage it, the GROUPS option is designed for that purpose. For example, if you have a set up with a hairlight, and you know some shots will not require a hairlight, you can set up GRP 8 with all lights active but the hair light. When you dont need it, switch to GRP8. When you do need it, switch to ALL. If you dont want any lights to fire, switch to GRP7 which has no light selected. |

Probably double clicks or even tipple clicks of the right joystick on the main screen wouldn't happen accidentally because the right joystick doesn't have much use in that screen. Groups are convenient when you already know the setup and can just switch between your settings. But when for example I start setting up and work with 3-6 lights to find the look I want and try to see it with some lights off/on, creating groups, and trying to find the right one you need when I just want to turn a certain light off, will take even more time that going to light settings. I'd really like the shortcut to be seriously considered. If you think it can be accidentally engaged, maybe you can turn it off by default in CC settings? Alex |

Start with any existing light setup, then go to light setup menu, set left joystick to All Channels, set light setup (right joystick) to Light OFF, then scroll left joystick to preset 50 (or other convenient preset). Save Preset 50 to SD card. Pretty sloppy description . . . sorry. If I've done this correctly from memory, this will create a preset #50 that anytime you select it (with left joy stick) it will turn the whole system Off. When you want to use it again, just scroll to a different active preset and you should be back in business. Tech, I did this sitting at home without a CC, so would you please test it out and make sure I stated it all properly, and correct the procedure or elaborate if necessary |

The process of saving a set up with all (or any one or more) lights to standby, then recalling that set up to have the lights on or off as appropriate will work. There are few more steps to set this up than described above. Once these are saved, the switching process is not too difficult or involved. However, I believe the overall sentiment is for the ability to switch off the channels individually and "on-the-fly". Currently, this is still best achieved by preplanning and the use of groups. Also, depending on other factors, simply reducing power all the way to minimum on the desired unit(s) may be sufficient. |
