Well I sold 2 of my Profoto AcuteB2 Packs and heads because I really want to be able to control the light outputs from camera position. My plans were to buy a Profoto BatPak to use with my D1 Monolights but the $1725 price tag and 25 lbs bothers me a little.

I figure for that price I can buy a couple Einsteins, vegabond mini's cybercomanders and be ready to go.

Problem is I have a wedding in 12 days and although I still have one profoto acuteb2 kit, hate not to have a back up system for a wedding.

I know at one time these were a little delayed, hoping maybe production is caught up now.

Anyone know what the time frame is on shipping these?

Even if the Einsteins were available today you would likely not receive them until days before the wedding. In that short amount of time you would have learn how to learn how to use the Cyber Commander and Einsteins. The UI can be a little tricky. You would also not have any time to test that the Einsteins, CC, Vagabond have no defects. Even though you mention that the items would be used as a backup it would still be a risky proposition. Profoto gear is usually easy to rent and not too expensive. It might be better to just rent the Profoto equipment, that you are familiar with, for this wedding and plan on using the Einsteins for your next gig.

Right now, we are stating a 6-10 day lead time for Einstein on our website. However, if the D1 firmware has the "Bt" mode, you should be able to use the VML with those.

I checked and my D1's have the Bt mode and I ordered a VML today, will be here Thursday.

I have power available at weddings, I just really like being able to not hunt for it and keep everything portable.

If this works with my D1' I will buy a few of them and I am sure my colleagues will also.

I will later check out the einstein's for sports, many of the fellow MaxPrep photographers seem to like them.
