| Post subject: | Einstein Weight Capacity |
Hello, I tried searching the forums for an answer but wasn't able to come across one. I was wondering what the weight capacity was for the mount on the front of the Einstein. I have a version that has been serviced but it still feels a bit loose and I'm concerned about putting too much weight on there. Also, what is the weight capacity for the umbrella mount? Thank you! |

In as much as the mount itself. I have never had mine serviced as I never felt the need to do so. I do have, and use on a regular basis a 60" octo on my E640. It's somewhat precarious and I would not attempt this outside with any wind. But it holds for regular use in moving it about the floor. I don't think it would take too much more than the 60 incher though. The umbrella... How big of an umbrella can you buy? It's front end capability handles the PLM system and they can be huge. I would think the factor would be in your light stands and or hinge on the E640 which is very sturdy. |

It is impossible to put a single weight capacity on modifiers for the front faceplate. Depending on the design of the product, agiven weight can be concentrated near the light or farther from the light. The latter applying more force due to leverage (torque). With that said, a properly working light will work with all of our modifiers, as well as most other brands (we have even used 7' octaboxes). If you are having troubles with modifiers staying on, your faceplate is probably not be in spec. Feel free to contact Customer Service for further evaluation and arrangements for repair, if necessary. |
