Is there something that can be done about the speeding not holding the largest soft box to the B800. doesn't seem strong enough. every time I move it the soft box falls off. It's not a problem with my one b800, because it happens on both of them. My octobox has problems falling off too. Sadly I put up with it until now it fell off and broke the modeling lamp.

any suggestions?

Scott

First, make sure you are getting all four mounting fingers inside the diameter of the speedring. Also, make sure the inner portion of the speed ring is round and not eccentric or warped. When mounted, a 1/8" gap at the top is normal, but the softbox should not fall off, even with reasonable force applied. If the speedring looks good, and all four fingers are in place, then the spring in the AB may need to be replaced. If this is the case, please contact customer service to arrange for service, which will vary based on warranty/nonwarranty status.

Stay tuned ...
Answer to the problem is in production, now. I'll post in the next few days.

Thanks

First make sure that all four fingers of the mounting system are inside the speedring. If that is the case, and modifiers are falling off, we may need to make a repair to the faceplate. Customer Service will be able to assist you in making arrangements to get that corrected.

I experienced the same problem with B400. I just got the B400 to use with the Paul C Buff 30x60 softbox and it is secured on all 4 prongs. But if I go to rotate or adjust it has fallen off a few times and most recently broke my lamp. I need to replace that center bulb but know this problem is going to persist. There does not seem to be any problem with the prongs. What can I do?
