I have a CC that I very seldom use yet the batteries keep draining at a rate that seems excessive. I placed brand new alkaline AAA's in there and about 6-weeks later I am getting the low battery warning again. I know 6-weeks may sound like a long while, but I have not used the unit during that time. It has sat on a shelf with nothing coming in contact with the buttons. I was shocked when I picked it up today to use it and saw that indicator. The batteries are fresh, brand name batteries (not rechargeables).

Does this sound like something is wrong with the CC that is causing this excessive battery drain? The main reason I don't use it is because I got tired of changing the batteries when I did. For a CC that sits idle what can I expect to be a normal amount of time that the batteries should last? I'm just not sure if I should send this in or if this is normal operation.

Could be a corrupt memory card. Try removing the card to see if the problem persists. Also make sure the battery contacts are secure to the inside of the Cyber Commander.

Have you adjusted the screen brightness? Very high brightness will draw power very quickly, and the batteries will drain faster, especially if the CC has the screen on. Note the screen does not have to be on in order for the CC to trigger. Even when off, the CC will trigger the lights instantly, just like the CST or the CC with the screen on.
