Howdy,

I purchased this unit last week. It arrived at my house in NY on Thursday and arrived to me in New Zealand (where I'm on assignment with 3 x AB800s) yesterday (monday) via FedEx. I charged it overnight with a plug adapter thing I use for everything else without a hitch.

All went well. The light went green when plugged in, then red when connected to the VBM. All good I thought. When I checked it the next morning the light on the charger was flashing green. Unplugging the charger, I turned on the unit and it lit up indicating there was full power. I turned it off, plugged in an AB800 and turned it on, as per the manual instructions. No juice at all to the AB. Tried 3 lights, 3 different power cords on both outlets on the top. No juice anywhere. No power at all. All there was was a very slight humming noise from the unit when I put it against me ear.

Tried my laptop: Nope. Doesn't power that. It doesn't even power my Canon battery charger. It does recharge my MP3 player though via the USB but the light on the unit remains green and not orange like it states in the manual.

So... I left it for a while. Plugged it in to charge again thinking it might just be something funny. Now when I plug in the charger the green light comes on and it stays green even when connected to the vagabond. I took the battery pack off the charge it directly. The light is green until it connects then it flashes green intermittently. When I remove it from the battery pack it goes back to green again. I can not get it back to the red light no matter how many permutations of connection I try.

What do you suggest? The unit has been unboxed for 24 hours and I am depending on it for work for what I need to do out here and don't want to lug around a 20 lb step-down converter when this should do the exact same thing.

For ref: S/N is V12028074.

The fuse looks fine. The unit is silent unless I put my ear to it when I can hear a slight buzz/hum but it doesn't not power anything let alone my studio equipment.

Please help.

It sounds like an internal problem to the inverter. You will need to contact customer service to see what warranty resolution options are available.
