I have one Cybersync transmitter and 5 receivers and was wondering if I could use a receiver to trigger my camera. I have a Nikon D800 and was thinking all this would need would be a cord for the 10 pin connection. Is that correct and if it is where could I find the cord? Thanks for any input on this you have. Mike |

You can, but with limitations. CSRB's work better than CSRB+'s for this application. First, you would need a prerelease cable, such as this one:http://flashzebra.com/products/0130/index.shtml. Second, since it is a prerelease cable, the camera will act just as it would if you were holding the shutter button half way down. Once activated, the AF-S will lock, and not adjust, so we recommend AF-C or MF for focusing. Additionally, if the option for release priority is available, I recommend that vs. focus priority. You cannot hold the transmitter button and keep the camera in "motor drive". One press=one photo. If you use the AF button on the back for focus, and de-link the shutter button from focus, you may have to change that. You may want to test auto review on vs auto review off (there may or may not be a difference). Remember, these remotes were designed for triggering lights, and not for camera triggering. While the two are similar (closing a circuit), they are not necessarily identical. |
