I notice that the grid on the new foldable large soft box I purchased sticks out about 1" pass the edge of the soft box even after I moved the front white diffuser panel back as far as the Velcro would let me attach it to the Velcro on the soft box. I started looking and saw some soft boxes have the grids that are actually flush with the lip of the soft box.
Is the grid suppose to stick out that far or have I done something wrong?

The grid will protrude from the front edge of the softbox. This is normal, and does not impede the effect of the grid.
